Aion 2, the game

Aion 2 is a free-to-play MMORPG by NCSOFT, the sequel to the Aion of 2008. Two winged races fight over the world of Atreia, on the ground and in the air.

What kind of game it is

You play a Daeva, an immortal with wings, on one of two sides: the Elyos or the Asmodians. Flying is part of exploring and of combat.

Combat is action-based and there is no auto-hunting: you play every fight yourself. Progress comes from dungeons, raids, the Daevanion boards and your gear, and PvP happens in the Abyss and the Arena.

It runs on Unreal Engine 5, and NCSOFT says the world is 36 times larger than the original game. Korea and Taiwan have been playing it since 19 November 2025.

Platform and languages

PC only (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit), on Steam and on PURPLE, the NCSOFT launcher. Free to play, with an optional shop.

Languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Korean. Full voice acting in English, Japanese and Korean.

Supports NVIDIA DLSS 4.5.

The global version at a glance

Launch5 October 2026 on Steam and PURPLE, free to play. Early access opened on 30 September.

Global starts from a modified Season 1: it already includes the balance and quality-of-life changes Korea got during its first year, but not the content that came later.
