Stages and effects
Each stage asks for more item level and adds effects that make monsters and bosses tougher. The run is scored on how fast the party kills the final boss and clears the mission without dying, and every cleared stage gives Arcana, of a higher grade on higher stages.

Deus Research Base is one of the two Transcendence dungeons of Season 1, together with Shattered Arkanis. Transcendence is a separate mode with its own entries and a seasonal ranking. Each dungeon has 4 stages, each one at a higher item level and with more effects, and every cleared stage gives Arcana. The final boss, Atiel, is a test of positioning more than damage, with two attacks that kill whoever handles them alone and an arena that shrinks under your feet.
Route
The run follows a fixed order: the two named bosses, then a monster quota, then the final boss.
- Ride the windstream from the entrance to the first fork.
- Take the left path to the first named boss, Gelcos.
- Come back to the fork and follow the right passage to the second, Nazmun.
- After Nazmun, the floor ends. Glide across to the other side and watch the jump, because it is easy to fall here.
- The wide area below is the place to fill the monster quota. Atiel’s room only opens once the party has killed enough monsters.
- Atiel waits in the centre.

Atiel
- Chain: Atiel shouts and links two random players with a chain that hurts both of them for as long as it lasts. The two run in opposite directions until it snaps. If it comes at the same time as the mark, break the chain first.
- Mark and bind: with another shout, Atiel marks one random player and binds them in place. Taken alone, the hit that follows is close to lethal. Everyone nearby steps into the circle to share it.
- Collapsing arena: twice during the fight, Atiel destroys the outer ring of the arena and the space shrinks. From then on, a knockback near the edge throws you off, and a fall cannot be revived. Fight from the centre.
- Stagger check: at low health (around 20 to 30%), Atiel covers the arena in fan-shaped zones. The party has a short time to empty its Stagger Gauge, or everyone dies. Keep your stagger skills ready for this moment.
What to run it for
Deus Research Base gives Arcana for three of the five slots, the Bell, the Compass and the Chalice, each in its Vigor and Magic version. Shattered Arkanis covers the Mirror and the Parchment (and also gives Chalices), so the two dungeons together fill every slot. The grade of the card depends on the stage, so climbing stages is how you upgrade them. Arcana adds to your item level, and the class guides show which card of each slot the top players use.
The Amplify Stone Fragment drops at 20% per clear, as in the Conquest dungeons.
