Krao Cave is one of the two tier 1 Conquest dungeons, together with Draupnir. It opens at 700 item level, and for many players it is the first boss with a stagger check. If the party does not break the boss’s Stagger Gauge in time, everyone dies. Ultimate Berk does it once, at half health, and the rest of the fight comes down to two attacks you have to see coming.
Route
There is no need to clear the trash. Three kills open the way, the two named bosses and the Krao Seal Guardian.
- From the start, take the left path to the first boss, Enhanced Harcon.
- Cross to the right side for the second, Neglected Gadioton.
- Come back to the centre and kill the Krao Seal Guardian. The rock wall behind the teleport point collapses and opens the path to the final boss.
- Fly that path. It crosses a drop, and walking it is the usual way to die before the boss even starts.
- Ultimate Berk waits at the end, in the Sealed Cave.
Each boss you kill adds its rewards to the cube that appears after the final boss, so a full run is worth more than one that only kills Berk. The route sticks after a couple of runs behind the party, faster than from the map.

Ultimate Berk
Berk goes berserk after 5 minutes of combat, so the fight is also a damage check. Four of its attacks matter.
- Front swing: a wide swing in front of it. From behind, it never reaches you, and that is where melee players should stand. It often chains straight into the spin.
- Spin: when red dust starts to swirl around its body, Berk is about to spin and chase a random player. Get away from it at once. The spin hits many times in a row, so if it catches you, drink a potion straight away.
- Wave of Fury: Berk leaps, lands with a shout and yellow glowing rocks rise around the room. You have 5 seconds to get behind one. Anyone left in the open dies.
- The stagger check at 50%: at half health, the Stagger Gauge under its health bar unlocks. The party has about 9 seconds to empty it, or everyone dies.
The stagger check is the one that ends runs. Every class has skills that deal heavy Stagger Gauge damage (the skill description says how much), and the stigma ones hit hardest. As Berk gets close to 50%, stop using them so they are ready, then fire them all together the moment the gauge opens. With a weak group, pushing Berk to 50% with every stagger skill on cooldown is the classic wipe.
What to run it for
Krao Cave is the tier 1 dungeon for Unique accessories and weapons. Berk’s ring, earrings and necklace drop at 1 to 1.7% per clear, and there is a Rupture weapon for each weapon type at 0.43% each. For the Unique armor set, run Draupnir instead.
Two items are guaranteed if luck has not given them to you first, the Gear Change Voucher after 14 runs and the Sync Stone after 28. Artwork: Krao, at 0.9%, is a Pantheon Decor.
Clearing Conquest without a single death completes an achievement that rewards a Soul Codex: Reset, and there is another one for a solo clear. Alone, the hard part is the 50% check, so bring every Stagger Gauge skill you have.
