Aion 2: What to Do at Level 45
What changes at 45
Level 45 is the cap in Season 1, and reaching it opens almost everything at once: Nightmare, Abyss, Arena and Battlefield, Transcendence, Ascension Trial, Sanctuary raids, Arcana, the market, seasonal missions and rankings.
From here the game is no longer about experience. It is about item level, and about not wasting the entries that refill every day and every week.
Your first ten steps
- Switch to your endgame setup. Open your class guide and set your stigmas, the skills to max first and your Daevanion order.
- Fill all four stigma slots and spend your stigma points on the ones marked Core.
- Open the Azphel board if you plan to PvP. It is the PvP board and unlocks at 45.
- Equip Arcana cards. The class guide shows which of the two cards to use in each slot.
- Equip titles. One attack, one defense and one utility title. Use the best ones you already own.
- Run Conquest dungeons at the highest tier your item level allows. This is your main source of gear.
- Use your Nightmare attempts. They stack up to 14, so you start with a backlog to spend.
- Do your three Ascension Trial entries for the week.
- Do your Duty Quests every day.
- Join a legion if you have not. Raids and the harder dungeons need an organised group.
How gear progression works
Conquest dungeons are split into tiers, and each tier asks for a minimum total item level. You do not choose a tier by skill: you gear up in one until the next one opens.
| Conquest tier | Total item level needed |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 700 |
| Tier 2 | 1,400 |
| Tier 3 | 2,100 |
| Tier 4 | 2,800 |
| Tier 5 | 3,000 |
A sixth tier (3,800) needs level 50 and is not reachable in Season 1.
The loop is simple: run the tier you can enter, replace your lowest pieces, enhance the weapon first, and move up when the next tier unlocks.
Best return for your time
If you only have a short session, do these in order. The top of the list gives the most progress per minute.
| Activity | Time | Why it is worth it | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Duty Quests (5 a day) | Minutes | The best reward for the time in the game. You can reroll the offer: take the ones that pay crystals first. |
| 2 | Conquest dungeon rewards | Medium | Your gear. Entries bank up, so you can run several in one sitting instead of logging in every day. |
| 3 | Ascension Trial (3 a week) | Medium | Pays Enhance Stones, which every upgrade below depends on. |
| 4 | Nightmare attempts | Short | Attempts stack for a week. A failed pull does not use up an attempt, so it is safe to try a boss above your comfort level. |
| 5 | Transcendence | Long | Arcana cards, which also count towards your item level. |
| 6 | Unknown Fissure (14 a week) | Short | Easy to forget because the entries are a weekly pool. |
Two habits get more out of the same entries:
- Leave Nightmare and Ascension Trial for the end of the week. They are scored by how far you get, and you are stronger on Tuesday than on Wednesday.
- Do not log in just for world bosses. The reward does not justify planning your day around the spawn timers.
Gear tips that save materials
- Amulet and belt come first. The Revelation Amulet and the Noble Belt are never replaced: you keep the same two pieces all season and evolve them. Every point you put into them is permanent, so they are the safest place for your effort.
- They use their own scrolls, not Enhance Stones. The scrolls come from strongholds, rifts and regional quests. Take the piece to +10, then use Substance Morph to turn it into the next grade: Rare to Epic, Epic to Unique. Each morph needs the previous piece at +10.
- Extracting gear gives back the Enhance Stones. When you replace an enhanced weapon or armor piece, extract it and the stones come back. The Kinah you paid does not, and neither do the Manastones or Theostones socketed in it.
- So enhance freely, socket carefully. Enhancing a piece you will soon replace costs you only Kinah. Keep your best Manastones for gear you plan to keep.
- Enhancement caps depend on the grade: +5 for Common and Rare, +10 for Epic, +15 for Unique. Player guides report that up to +10 never fails.
- Replace your lowest piece first. Dungeon tiers check your total item level, so one weak slot holds you back more than one strong slot helps. Empty Arcana slots count as weak slots.
- Crafted upgrades keep their enhancement. Upgrading a crafted piece to the next step of its line carries the + level over, and each craft has a chance to come out as the stronger Splendent version.
- Permanent systems outlast gear. Daevanion nodes, titles and your wing collection stay when you swap equipment. When you are short on materials, they are never wasted effort.
Where to put your effort
- Then the weapon. After amulet and belt, it is the biggest single upgrade for every class except tanks, who want defense and HP early.
- “Splendent” versions of an item are better than the plain version of the same tier.
- Do not let entries overflow. Anything that recharges stops recharging when it is full. The activities guide lists every limit.
- PvP is optional. If you only want PvE, you can skip the Abyss and Arena and lose nothing but their titles.
