Ferocious Horn Den is the other tier 3 Conquest dungeon, from item level 2,100. There is no need to clear the monsters on the way, and the route is short, with bombs that open the path, a drop into a cave and a glide to the last room. The four bosses are each a small puzzle, and the last one, Nuakum, asks the whole party to know its part.
Route
- Ignore the monsters and run along the path. Take a bomb from a bomb chest and blow up the wooden barricade to reach the first boss, Watchdog Kwapo.
- After Kwapo, go up the slope and break the stone wall on the left. Drop down and open your wings on the way.
- Follow the cave to the Shining Mau Totem.
- Breaking the totem opens the altar door. Necromancer Duanka waits beyond it.
- After Duanka, ride the updraft up and glide across to the Howling Throne, where Ferocious Horn Nuakum waits.

Watchdog Kwapo
One attack matters. Kwapo fills the floor with area attacks and scatters lightning orbs. Spread out and pick them all up, even though each one slows you down. A howl then sends a purple wave across the room, and any orb still on the floor blows up when it reaches it.
Shining Mau Totem
The totem is a puzzle more than a fight. Starting it brings a wave of monsters and two bomb chests at the ends of the area, and it fires homing shots at every player. It cannot be hurt while the monsters live. Get into position before starting it, damage dealers at the two ends and the tank in the middle gathering the monsters. Throw bombs at them, then break the totem.
Necromancer Duanka
- Staff spin: when Duanka spins her staff, an explosion forms under every player. Each one is bearable, but where two overlap they can kill. Keep apart.
- Mau Necromancy: spirits appear around the room. Only players who pick up the green orb from the altar can hit them, so the closest players, or the ranged ones, take it and destroy them quickly.
- Soul Caller: Duanka moves to the centre and pulls everyone in. Lightning orbs close in that stun on contact, and a few seconds later a large explosion goes off around her. Run out to the edge before it does.
Ferocious Horn Nuakum
Nuakum goes berserk after 5 minutes.
- Bleeding: his hits stack a bleed, and once it builds up a puddle forms where you stand and stays there. Watch the timer and drop it at the edge, or on top of another puddle, because they are wide.
- Chosen prey: one player is rooted, with a green health bar, and Nuakum’s clone charges at them. Another player stands in its way to block it. Then Nuakum himself lands on the rooted player.
- Red balls: late in the fight, at around 25 to 30% health, energy gathers in the centre. Nuakum jumps, the player closest to where he lands is targeted and he throws red balls at them. That player stands so the balls fly into the energy in the centre. This is the part of the fight to get right.
